objective
To fundraise and host Babson’s first event on diversity in abilities, featuring international motivational speaker Hitesh Ramchandani. Our goal was to have 200 participants attend.
solution
Within nine months, I recruited and managed five team members to work cross-functionally in operations, finance, and marketing. We met with various organizations and secured funding and collaborations with 10 student and faculty organizations. My team and I executed a marketing campaign to reach our attendance goal.
RESults and deliverables
facebook event campaign:
Event Flyers
By creating a Facebook event campaign linked with Eventbrite, 113 people registered online. On the day of the event, over 200 attendees showed!
Leader’s Spotlight
We provided the space for 10 student-run Babson startups during the Leader’s Spotlight to facilitate networking prior to speaker event. These startups were chosen based on their purpose-driven mission and commitment to diversity and inclusion. There were 60 attendees total!
Making it Happen
We fundraised $10,000 to host the event and our sponsors included five Babson faculty and office organizations. We worked closely with Babson’s Human Resources office to carefully plan the event’s programming and marketing materials. This marked Babson’s first event for diversity in abilities!
